Version 1.264.0 - 12th of December 2025
New Features
- Report Data Processing and Filtering: We’ve enhanced how your reports handle complex data, allowing you to process multi-select options (comma-separated) and repeating question group answers (pipe-separated) individually. This enables more accurate analysis of vital information. Additionally, the introduction of explicit type information for dynamic fields in the CSV export now provides more powerful and refined filter options within your reports.
Version 1.263.0 - 2nd of December 2025
New Features
- Improved Member and Role Management: We’ve significantly enhanced how you manage members and assign roles across your organization, studies, and sites. The new history of member roles allows you to track the start date, end date, and reason for any assignment change. We’ve made the member management process more intuitive by allowing you to add new roles to existing members easily. For full visibility, you can now view both active and inactive roles, and members will receive in-app notifications for any role changes.
- Self-Service Sign-Up: We’ve introduced a new, dedicated Sign-Up page to enable a fully automated, frictionless onboarding experience. New users can now enter their email to receive a passwordless sign-in link, guiding them through a simple setup flow to create their account independently.
- Self-Service Organization Creation: We’ve introduced a wizard and flow that allows you to create either a formal Organization or a private workspace, which is required to access the dashboard and create studies.
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
- Study Creation Workflow Improvements: The terminology in the study creation drawer has been updated from “protocol” to “study,” and we’ve added a helpful feature checklist that clearly outlines the capabilities available to you immediately after the study is created.
Version 1.257.1 - 13th of November 2025
With this release, Carelane adds CRF eSignatures, TOTP 2FA, faster loading participant lists, clearer mandatory-field signals, sturdier reports, and safer prompts.New Features
- CRF eSignature: Confident, compliant sign-off of verified CRFs with clear “Signed by <name> on <date>” status and automatic tracking of invalidations due to edits, so teams know exactly when and by whom records were approved.
- TOTP 2FA: Enable app-based two-factor authentication; after email verification and activation, all logins and password confirmations require a time-based one-time password (TOTP).
- Reports Page: Reports moved from a drawer to a full page with explicit Save changes and Update with latest participant data actions and leave-with-unsaved-changes confirmation.
- Participants List Tag: Show a “Mandatory fields missing” tag in participant overview when a required, enabled, non-sensitive-dependent field is unanswered.
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
- Mandatory Alerts Accuracy: List missing flag-if questions in section alerts; hide sensitive mandatory gaps from users without permission.
- Faster Participant Lists & Dashboards: Quicker load and smoother scrolling on large studies, making it easier to navigate large participant sets.
- Reports Date Filter: Date-only values now display and persist correctly.
- Custom Prompts Safety: Prevent accidental deletion of custom user prompts.
- Reliable Exports: Exports no longer get stuck, and large FHIR exports complete consistently. Teams can request new exports sooner and trust status updates.
Version 1.251.1 - 22nd of October 2025
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
- Site Deactivation Access: Deactivated sites now fully revoke member access, including related roles. Existing deactivated sites were migrated to enforce this.
- Multiple-Choice Calculations: Complex Calculations across Multiple-Choice Questions at any Position in the in participant pathways now update and persist correctly in preview simulation mode as well as in active deployment.
- Primary Email Verification: Primary Email Verification is now required: your new primary email becomes active only after you confirm it via the verification link. For security, you’ll be signed out when changing your primary email or password. This prepares accounts for upcoming TOTP MFA.
Version 1.249.1 - 20th of October 2025
New Features
- Site Export emails: Site CSV/Excel now includes names, emails, of all PIs, making it easier to contact teams outside Carelane.
- Participant Tags in export: A new “Tags” column lists each participant’s tags, alphabetically sorted and comma-separated, matching the tag labels you see in the app.
- Fix data at the source: When a reviewer raises a query on a CRF field, users must update the actual field before resolving; an override requires a brief mandatory explanation when a change isn’t possible.
- Mandatory sections enforced: CRF sections show a clear “Mandatory data missing” alert and, when configured to reject-if, block submission until required fields are filled.
- Find untagged records fast: The tags filter on participant lists now includes “No tags assigned” to surface unclassified records instantly.
- All queries in one place: A new “Queries” button opens an overview drawer listing every query for the participant (including those tied to removed fields), with jump-to-field navigation and resolve controls.
- Multiple organization admins: You can assign the admin role to more than one member, ensuring continuous access to settings and user management.
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
- Real date handling in reports: Key columns like Enrollment Date and Last updated are parsed as dates, so sorting and filtering behave chronologically instead of alphabetically.
- Better login autofill: The login page now behaves like a standard form, improving browser/password manager suggestions for email and password.
- Report Config changes preserved during refresh: While a report is updating, any changes you make to column order, sorting, filters, or the right sidebar are now preserved when new data finishes loading. Previously, these adjustments were reset; now they remain exactly as you configured them.
- Invisible queries after deletions: Queries linked to removed repeated groups are now handled correctly.
- Section tag accuracy: “Queries in Progress” is removed as soon as the last pending query in a section is resolved.
- CRF editor reliability: Drag-and-drop shows valid drop zones throughout long forms, and edit controls (including Save) no longer slip off-screen.
- Advanced CRF calculations across sections: Multiple-choice calculations now display the correct checked options and include all mapped answers (not just the first). In other words you can now “calculate” the selected values in one section and offer that subset for selection in another section.
- AI context correctness: A new Reset Chat button clears prior conversation.
Version 1.236.1 - 3rd of October 2025
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
- Hotfix: Prevents rare reset of calculations derived from sensitive fields during CRF edits. In specific scenarios, changing a non-sensitive field could clear calculated values. No sensitive data is lost and affected calculated fields can be restored by site members via a simple CRF edit.
Version 1.236.0 - 19th of September 2025
New Features
- Improved Site Activation & Study Hub: We’ve streamlined modeling of the site activation. The new Site Pathway & Study Hub page consolidates all site-related tasks—from registration to onboarding—into one clear and intuitive location. This rework also moves functionality out of the general study setup thus reducing complexity and increasing clarity. One of the changes also includes making the public study information page accessible without a PIN.
- Study Arm Management: We’ve completely rebuilt and expanded our study arm functionality to support more complex study protocols while also greatly simplifying the modeling process. You can now easily configure study arms in Study Setup and assign them to specific sections in your participant pathway to model separate paths for different participant groups. Once configured, you can then assign a specific study arm to participants, ensuring the correct path and forms are applied and irrelevant content is filtered out.

- Improved AI Security: We’ve added safeguards to our AI to prevent malicious prompts from manipulating its behavior. This ensures your data remains secure and the AI cannot be tricked into revealing sensitive information.
- Enhanced Backend Security and Traceability: We’ve made several updates to strengthen our application’s backend security by implementing stricter controls over internal systems. This includes separating access to sensitive functions to follow security best practices and creating a clear audit trail for all key actions.
- Enhanced Role-Based Access Control: We’ve strengthened our security measures to prevent unauthorized access to restricted pages and data. This proactive change enhances the overall integrity of your information and ensures that only authorized users have access to sensitive content.
- Removed Study Idea and Literature: We have removed the Study Idea and Literature feature as we prepare to launch a more comprehensive document management feature.
Stability Enhancements and User Experience Improvements
